Robots aren't so good in removing debris such as metal screws or chunks of pasta. They are however amazing at cleaning pet hair, dust and dust. The most effective models come with intelligent navigation systems, which can help them avoid cords, toys and other obstacles in the household.
1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is an excellent robot vacuum with a number of smart features that make it much easier to maintain than many competing models. The automatic bin emptying feature is one of the most useful features we've seen in a robot vacuum. It's great on carpets and hard floors. It's also easy to set up and operate and the app will guide you through the process step-by-step. Another notable feature is the ability to go back to where it was when we tested it. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning before running out of battery.
Unlike some of the other robovacs that we tested, the i3+ EVO has an automatic emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on the base of its charging when it's filled. This helps reduce the need for hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it must be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO's internal dust bin holds 2.4L of debris that is more than enough to last several cleaning sessions before you have to replace it.
Like the i7model, this model also uses the latest floor sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones but not for the i3+ EVO.
While the i3+ EVO is more effective in removing surface debris than some of the other robovacs we looked at however, it's not the most effective when it comes to cleaning edges and corners. It is also less gentle on furniture, despite being remarkably quiet. It was quite rough on furniture as it forced chairs away. It also caused collisions with the sides of the test bed.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
Whether you're expanding your collection of robot vacuums, or are just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. why not try these out features an elegant design, powerful navigation, and effective automation at a reasonable cost. It's the most efficient pound-for pound model currently available and is even better than some of Roborock's much pricier models in several ways.
This robot is fantastic in cleaning floors that are not clean, and its avoidance tech helps it to steer away from furniture legs and other obstacles. It also does well on carpets and gets a high score for our navigation tests. The only snag is that it's more raucous than the other models we test and it doesn't do similarly in our user satisfaction or predicted reliability tests.
The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin of 770ml which means you won't have to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The 240-minute runtime is extremely generous when compared to other models we've tried. If the battery is empty, it returns to its dock and recharges, before starting cleaning where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and make voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This, in conjunction with other advancements, allows it to excel in our mopping and vacuuming tests. It is possible to schedule cleanings and set up no-go zones. You can also see the battery status. The app is easy to use, however it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. That feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of the beginning of November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that the feature will be delayed until 2025. Several other robots don't work with HomeKit, but many of them work with Siri Shortcuts.

It comes with a replacement sweeping brush and mopping cloth as well with a HEPA-filter. It can be used with smart hubs such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to control the device using voice. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to set up and can be connected to a wide range of floor surfaces with the automatic mode. This guarantees that the most effective results are achieved for every room and floor.

It has a high-tech navigation system that does an excellent job of mapping your home's layout and even across several floors. The base station is well-designed and automates cleaning to a large extent. It also offers impressive obstacle avoidance and navigation.
This model makes use of an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to identify your home's location, and create efficient cleaning routes. The iMop was highly rated for its accuracy and navigation. It also did an excellent job avoiding obstacles like furniture. It's also able to return to the base station, which is a nice feature in case it's running out of battery during a cleaning session.

It also has a spot cleaning mode that allows you to clean or mop the specific area of your floor. And it can be manually programmed to follow a fixed path, which is useful in narrow staircases or hallways. It did a decent job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning test however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and rugs. It is also possible to set it to automatically raise the mop pad when it encounters carpet, which is a great feature if you want to not mop your carpets.
The iMop has an onboard dust bin and an water tank that is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. The onboard dust bin holds up to 2.5 liters of debris and will only require emptying after a few cleaning cycles. The water tank can handle half a dozen mopping sessions before it is dry. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the typical robot vacuum, which could be a major selling point for busy families.
The smartphone app of iMop is simple to use and packed with options for configuration. It offers various suction settings, mopping settings and scheduling. It allows you to create virtual walls, no-go zones and other limitations to ensure that your robot doesn't wander into areas that aren't safe for it. In addition, the app gives you access to your iMop's status and error messages.
